Zebra Printer Step By Step Instruction to Set it up with PayPal Shipping Services


Most of the customers buy the Thermal printers have experience working with them or are using shipping programs that work with thermal printers without the need to change settings or install any drivers.

This instructions apply to our customers that need help with the installation and set up of their Zebra 2844 Thermal Printer to work with your computer and PayPal's shipping services.

Please do not connect the printer until the driver has been installed. Follow the instructions and make sure to chose the driver for the Zebra UPS 2844.

After the driver has been installed, you can connect your printer. The computer will recognize the printer and automatically install the printer driver.

Now that the driver has been successfully installed go to your Printer and Faxes folder from the Start Menu:




 



The printer and Faxes Folder should look like the picture below. If you do not find the folder in your Start menu, go to the Control Panel and look for it there.




On the Printer and Faxes folder, look for the Zebra UPS 2844 that you just have installed. Click on it and you can either right click on the printer Icon and chose properties or click on the right hand side menu option that says Set printer properties.


When you click on the Click Preferences menu option you will see another window title Zebra UPS 2844 Properties. At the bottom of the window you will see a button called Printing Preferences. Then go to the Page Setup Tab to change the Thermal paper size also called the Stock. Please chose the 4 X 6 paper size by clicking on the drop down menu arroy like the picture below.





The click on the Options tab and uncheck the Used Current Printer settings and increase the Darkness to 13.
On Speed Settings, uncheck the Use Current Printer Settings and click on the drop down menu to chose the 2.00 in/sec.





After you are done please make sure you click on the Apply button at the bottom of the window.

We have played with several settings and this special settings seem to work best with Paypal shipping services.

The last thing we need to do is set PayPal up to print the right label size with the Thermal printer and not your default printer.






If you remember, when you calculate and print shipping labels with PayPal right before paying for the label, you have the option to Edit the Printer Settings. You only have to do this once. Before paying for the label, click on the Edit printer settings link. You will see the menu below.




Here, just click on the Label Printer. Then click on the drop down menu arrow where you can chose the label printer. Chose the Zebra LP2844-Z 4.0" x6.0"

Then click Save. That is telling PayPal to print the label to the right size for that particular printer. When you click save it will take you to the page where you will be able to pay for the label and print it. Just follow the instructions. The printing process is a bit different but the results are much better.

With this printer we are able to not only print our shipping labels but also our customer's receipts and self stick coupons. That way we can save money to our repeat customers. You can print from any windows program including Internet Browsers. You have to play with the program's printer settings until the print comes out the way you like it.

We now never use our Inkjet or laser printer. Positively saving us a bunch of money in printers, paper, ink and toner.

Endicia.com is another program that works well with eBay, Paypal and Thermal Printers. We have never used them but we have heard good things about them. They mainly help you save time by automatically importing your customers shipping info into the program. They charge a monthly service charge depending on the service you need. if you are a large user you might get the service for free.
